Expert NDIS Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) – Supporting Families Across Australia

Gibelli Positive Pathways provides comprehensive Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) services in line with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements. We conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA) and develop, implement, and evaluate tailored Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) designed to reduce behaviours of concern and minimize the need for restrictive interventions.

Previously focused on Victoria, we have expanded our reach to support participants across Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, and New South Wales. Whether you are in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs, Greater Geelong, Greater Bendigo, or major hubs across SA, WA, and NSW, our team is ready to help.

We empower clients, families, and support staff with practical, evidence-based strategies that lead to lasting positive change and improved quality of life.

What is Positive Behaviour Support?

Positive Behaviour Support is an evidence-based approach used to support people who display behaviours of concern. It is also used to help families and support networks respond more effectively to individuals who display these behaviours.

The first stage of Positive Behaviour Support is to determine the cause of the challenging behaviours. Once we determine the message being conveyed by an individual's behavior, we can devise more effective ways to assist them. These tactics could involve teaching the person new skills, helping to meet their needs (such as sensory needs), modifying the person's surroundings (such as home, school, or workplace) to better suit their needs, or altering how others interact and/or communicate with them.

But what are behaviours of concern?

Behaviours of concern are persistent behaviours that affect the safety of an individual and/or the people around them. It also refers to behaviours that limit a person’s ability to access the community or go about their daily lives.

Behaviours of concern are frequently intricate, erratic, unpredictable, and challenging to manage. These behaviors typically arise when an individual's environment fails to meet their needs, which negatively affects the individual's quality of life.  It's crucial to remember that a lot of behaviors that people find difficult are typically age-appropriate. For instance, a three-year-old who is unable to share or wait their turn.
